Meet our Realtors
Joan Herlong – B.I.C.
Joan has been selling residential real estate in Greenville since 1993. Year after year, she’s earned the rank of Greenville’s Number One Realtor. That’s not just some slogan, it’s a remarkable achievement. She founded AugustaRoad.com Realty, LLC, in December 2011. By the end of 2012, she had earned the rank of Number One – no single Realtor had a higher sales volume (based on MLS sales data), and the record continues… in 2013…in 2014…and again in 2015! How does she do it? The difference is hard work. She’s smart, but she also just works harder, for her clients. She has achieved an invaluable level of expertise based on countless transactions. She takes her work very seriously, but not herself (as you can see from her ads in TOWN magazine :).
She works full time, always has (most Realtors do not). She returns all her calls and texts on the same business day, or the next day if you call her after hours. Seven days a week. (Ever notice how hard it is to get an agent to return your phone call on a weekend? Isn’t that supposed to be the busiest time of the week for a Realtor…?)
The Client comes first, period. Joan specializes in helping busy professionals buy and sell residential property. She brings an unsurpassed level of professionalism to her work. She is respected by her peers, and has earned the reputation of being assertive, but fair. Anyone can manage an easy sale, but when a deal gets dicey, you definitely want Joan on your side.
Joan “speaks” fine older homes, new construction, and newly renovated homes fluently. While much of her business centers on the “old” side of town, she lists and sells all over the Greenville area.
She and her husband William have raised four children, ages 24 to 32, and now enjoy their first grandchild, the cutest baby girl, ever, who is four.
She enjoys tennis, and served several seasons as the captain of a 4.0 UPTA team at Greenville Country Club where they are active members. (Joan has sponsored more new members at GCC than any other Realtor in town, too.) They are members at Buncombe Street United Methodist Church. William is an attorney specializing in corporate and personal litigation with The Herlong Law Firm, LLC. He served two terms as trustee for District 24 on the Greenville County School Board from 1998 to 2006.
For over ten years, Joan has been a regular opinion/humor columnist in The Greenville Journal. The best way to really get to know her is to click here. She’s a graduate of the Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Greenville Class XXIII (1997), and served on Leadership Greenville’s Board of Regents. She has been a PTA president, and she has also served on the board for the Greenville Free Medical Clinic and for Artisphere, Greenville’s annual arts festival.
Originally from Winnetka, Illinois, Joan graduated from The University of Virginia with a B.A. in English. She and William met in college. They have lived in Atlanta, Chicago, Charlotte, and Washington D.C. In 1989 they made their home and life in Greenville, and they love being part of this vibrant community!
Venetia King is a Buyer’s Agent and professional Staging Designer. (She’s the one who makes AugustaRoad.com listings show so well!) An Atlanta native, Venetia’s natural eye for design motivated her to major in art at Auburn University in Alabama. After deciding she didn’t want to starve, she went on to graduate from the National Center of Paralegal Training in Atlanta. Her 18 year career as a paralegal built her strong foundation for getting things DONE, and well. She practiced in litigation, real estate, federal banking law, and wills, trusts, and estates.
When Venetia moved to Greenville in 2002, Joan was her buyer agent. In Greenville, Venetia at first did part time interior design, and she has always been an active volunteer. She also has a knack for fixing up houses, preparing incredible meals, and hosting wonderful and memorable parties for friends. In 2005, she started as Joan’s part time assistant. Soon after, she became a full time licensed Realtor with Prudential. In December 2011, she became the first agent to join AugustaRoad.com Realty LLC.
Venetia and her family are members at Christ Church Episcopal in Greenville. She has two children: a daughter, Venetia, a student at USC and a son, J.D., a student at JL Mann. The King household is rounded out by their four dogs: Pippy Longstockings, Ziggy Marley, Shadynasty, and Roux.
Jackson Herlong – Broker Associate, helping buyers and sellers
Jackson Herlong, Broker Associate, has been selling his hometown to and for Greenville buyers and sellers since 2013. Always a top producer, he’s an alum of Augusta Circle elementary, Hughes Academy, Greenville High, Southside’s IB program, and Mercersburg Academy in Mercersburg PA. Growing up in Greenville–while Greenville has grown up around him–affords Jack a unique perspective.
He earned his B.A. in English at Davidson, and his law degree at University of South Carolina’s School of Law in 2013. Real estate is in his DNA: his maternal grandmother retired from real estate when she was 83, his godmother/aunt is a Realtor in the Chicago area, and he’s been learning the business by osmosis his whole life.
His passion is soccer, Jackson is the captain of the AugustaRoad.com Arsenal, a team that won the “pro” division in Greenville’s adult soccer rec league several times in the past three seasons.
An experienced listing and buyer’s agent, Jackson looks forward to helping you navigate your next move.

After graduating from University of Georgia, Leah attended Law School at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. She fell in love with Real Estate while living in Mobile, AL and volunteering her time with the Junior League. She met her husband in Birmingham, AL where they lived for some time before moving to Mooresville, NC. They fell in love with Greenville a long time ago and finally made the move here in 2012; they definitely plan to stay here permanently!
Her husband, Joachim, enjoys golf at Holly Tree Country Club, where she is slowly but surely tuning her game. Maybe one day she’ll beat him…..probably not. Leah enjoys keeping a tidy home, with traditional taste and attention to detail. She also enjoys Gardening, Cooking, and long walks with her adorable dog, Madison.
Joachim and Leah recently underwent a full (year long) remodel of their 1930’s home in the Augusta Road/Alta Vista area. Leah learned a lot through the remodeling process and hopes to share her newfound experience and contacts with those looking to do the same. Leah also enjoys working with people who are moving to the Greenville area from out of state…something she has personal experience with. She has worked with a large number of clients from across the country. She understands out-of-town clients usually need a larger search area to better understand what Greenville has to offer. Most importantly, Leah will not stop looking until the perfect home is found.
As a listing agent, Leah has an amazing list-to-sale ratio (100%). Many of her listings have accepted contracts within the first two weeks on the market. This is largely attributed to the highly tuned and choreographed marketing strategy that she creates for each individual listing–it works! She works hard and goes above and beyond for all of her clients. Call her today to schedule your personalized meeting!

Beth has been a Realtor in Greenville since 2012. She helps her clients navigate the process with professionalism, always putting their interests first. It’s a tough lesson to learn, but not all real estate agents are created equal.
Beth takes great pride in her ability to listen to her clients—building relationships is her specialty—and as she listens to your needs and desires, she enjoys the challenge of finding the right property or marketing plan for you. She is constantly assessing our market and doing all the hard work so that you can enjoy the process of buying or selling your home.
Beth has lived in Greenville for over 10 years, so she brings both the perspective of the new resident and the experience of a not-quite-native-yet. She has a passion for this vibrant community and all it has to offer: our fabulous public spaces, dynamic arts, first-class sports venues, the natural beauty and mostly our beautiful neighborhoods. Beth has sold properties throughout our market, from Travelers Rest to Greer and Spartanburg to Anderson.
Beth and her husband, Charlie, an Upstate native, have been happily married for 27 years and have two teenage children. She has experience with both public and private schools here and can be a great resource in that regard. She has also helped her own parents move to and settle into the community here. The family lives in a beautiful house in the Augusta Road area that they bought from, you guessed it, Joan Herlong.
Born in Connecticut and raised on Hilton Head, Beth graduated cum laude with a BA in French and International Business from Queens College in Charlotte. She has been a successful licensed insurance agent and served as a director of development for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in Charlotte for several years.
Tennis is Beth’s sanity (regularly pummeling Joan), travel her indulgence, reading her escape and gardening keeps her grounded. She is a Greenville County Master Gardener, president of a local garden club and a board member of the Upper Piedmont Tennis Foundation. She finds time to volunteer at the kids’ schools and has developed an unexpected love for soccer after many hours on the sidelines cheering them on.

Ken Norsworthy – Broker Associate
Ken Norsworthy was born in Beaumont, Texas, but moved to Greer in 1988, one could say Ken was truly raised in the Upstate. He is an alum of Tryon Street, Sara Collins, Greer Middle and then Riverside High School. Ken pursued a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of South Carolina. He then took his education a step further by completing a law degree at the Charleston School of Law.
Since completing law school, Ken has practiced personal injury, family, and criminal law. He will continue to litigate for injured parties as he pursues his career in real estate. Ken is passionate about helping buyers the pursuit of their dream home and assisting sellers in the the listing and sale of their houses.
Ken’s wife, Rachel, is an art teacher at Eastside High School, but the love of art is not her’s alone. The pair participate in art-based programs designed to give back to students and, in their free time, enjoy live music performed in the Upstate. Ken has a special place in his heart for music. During his high school years, he played rhythm guitar in a fiddle band before he attended the Fine Arts Center for jazz guitar. Since then, Ken has played in several bands and produced music in his basement studio.
Ken is also a dog-lover. He has successfully made his two miniature dachshunds and his crazy long-haired chihuahua the most spoiled-rotten pups in the Upstate–the three are table scrap aficionados.
In both careers, Ken is dedicated to client comfort. He understands the range of emotions that often accompany the sale and purchase of a home and is determined to cater to individual needs. He is happy to meet day or night, rain or shine, no matter the issue at hand. As a practicing attorney, Ken prides himself on his willingness and ability to connect with clients, stir spirits, and inspire confidence to work against potential obstacles–Ken brings this same philosophy to real estate.
